Intel core i9

intel Core i9 processor is a processor of Intel-based 12nm manufacturing process. Intel Core i9 processor has been predicted to be the new top performance standard in 2018 and now one of its predecessors is being put back into action.

Intel Processor i9 laptop review. The best laptop processor is nowhere with the i9 Processor under its hood. No matter how much games are demanding, no matter what’s your computer needs, Intel core i9 Processor can handle it all. The new Processor is also good for content creation needs. This Processor belongs to the HEDT (High-end desktop) line and is a high-end upgrade of the 8th gen Processor HQ and HK series which was launched earlier on desktops.

The i7 Processor has 4 cores and 8 threads while i9 Processor has 6 cores and 12 threads in comparison to the previous one(HQ series). They both belong to LGA 1535 package type but differ in some other things as well such as their turbo boost clock, cache memory, and no. of PCIe lanes. The i7 Processor has the same TDP as the HQ Processor but the Core i9 Processor is having 40W higher which requires more cooling system to prevent thermal throttling(meaning the Processor will be running at a slower speed than its maximum) due to excessive heat production that can not be handled by laptop chassis fan or cooler. The new Processor allows Nvidia RTX series graphics cards to run without any hiccups even in heavy AAA titles like Battlefield 5 and Anthem (gameplay video available on the web).

Core i9 Processor belongs to the mobile category and is used in only 17-inch screen-size laptops with high-end cooling solutions such as Alienware, Acer Predator, and DellPS series for now. It is also used in the latest Macs of Apple. Processor belongs to LGA 1535 package type but differs from i7 Processor(8th gen) because it has 40W higher TDP which needs more cooling system to prevent thermal throttling due to excessive heat production, so Processor speed is limited compared to its maximum, it has 4 cores and 8 threads while core i7 Processor has 2 cores more(6 cores total), so rendering performance on multicore programs will be better for i9 Processor,

it can handle any game that comes out even some demanding ones with ease thanks to new Nvidia RTX 2080/2070 graphic cards, it supports DDR4 memory type running at 2666mhz compared to HQ series Processor’s 2400mhz, it has more PCIe lanes with 44 instead of 28 so Processor is able to handle high-performance graphic cards easily without any bottleneck(video card not having enough bandwidth), multicore rendering will be better than HQ Processor due to 40% increase in Threads,it has lower cache memory size which is 9MB compared to i7 Processor’s 12MB but Processor supports faster DDR4 memory and can also transfer data through 44 PCIe lanes which might compensate the cache memory lack.

AMD Ryzen 3

AMD’s Ryzen CPU architecture is the most exciting processor development in years. The company has not only managed to compete with Intel on speed, but it delivered an eight-core/16-thread chip (Ryzen Thread ripper) that is faster than anything else in multithreaded tasks – and all for half the price of many competing chips.

That excitement has boosted AMD’s market share when it comes to high-end processors, but its mainstream processors have been slow to catch up. This year, AMD released the Ryzen 5 family built using a 14nm process, so they are slightly slower in per-core performance than Intel’s comparable chips, at least in some workloads. Still, these CPUs offer better overall performance per dollar than Intel’s chips.

Today, AMD launches the Ryzen 3 family of CPUs. These CPUs are still based on 14nm technology, so they won’t be quite as fast in single-threaded tasks. But they do offer four cores and four threads at prices that undercut even the Ryzen 5 series. In other words, for folks who don’t need cutting-edge performance or multicore benefits, but want a bit more power from their laptop chip, these new Ryzen 3 processors could be ideal. Now let’s take a look at those two Ryzen 3 options:

AMD Ryzen 5

If you’re looking for an affordable mid-range CPU, AMD Ryzen 5 Processor is a great choice. It may not have hyperthreading, but it does have 8 real cores and a 4 GHz clock speed. That’s why I decided to write this Ryzen 5 Processor review. Here you’ll find all the necessary information on this processor’s performance and features. So if you want to buy a laptop with Ryzen Processor or just use one as a desktop computer, keep reading.

In my Ryzen Processor review, I will focus on four different areas: specifications, performance tests, pros/cons, and pricing of AMD’s latest Processor. However, before we get into details let me give you a quick introduction of what Ryzen Processor is.

AMD Processor family consists of different models, from high-end FX series to low-end A-series CPUs. The new AMD Processor released in April 2017 was designed for laptops and workstations – Ryzen 5 Processor. Unlike most laptop CPUs, this one has 8 cores and 16 threads!

Ryzen Processor is a perfect choice for users who want a powerful multi-tasking system or professionals that need massive computing power in their laptops. It’s worth noting that the newest Ryzen Processor belongs to the AM4 platform which means you can use them on almost any desktop motherboard with an AM4 socket (if there’s not a BIOS update available). In other words, it means you will be able to upgrade your PC in the future without buying a new Processor.

Ryzen Processor is based on AMD’s powerful Zen architecture that enables it to achieve great performance results. Just like other Ryzen Processors, it has an unlocked multiplier which means you will be able to overclock the CPU if your motherboard supports overclocking (most boards don’t support it though). However, you can’t expect a better than a 5-10% increase in performance when overclocking Ryzen Processor so I wouldn’t recommend doing this even if you could…

Note: Most laptops with Ryzen Processor also have integrated graphics cards (GPU) but since there are too many models out there, it would be impossible for me to test them all. Therefore, in my Ryzen 5 Processor review, I will focus on laptops with Nvidia and Intel Processor only.

AMD Ryzen 7

AMD’s Ryzen Mobile processors were initially unveiled during AMD’s “New Horizon” Livestream in November and have now updated its product brief with specifications and frequencies for the three launch models.

The AMD Ryzen 7 2700U features a TDP (thermal design power) of 15W as well as 10 CUs (compute units), allowing for a total of 640 stream processors, 40 texture mapping units (TMUs), and 16 ROPs (render output units).

Next up is the AMD Ryzen 5 2500U which features 4 cores / 8 threads at 2.0 GHz base and 3.6GHz boost clock, along with 10 CUs (640 stream processors) alongside 40 TMUs and 16 ROPs.

Finally, we have the dual-core AMD Ryzen 3 2300U with base clock speeds of 2.5GHz and turbos to 3.4GHz. This processor parts ways with SMT support due to its reduced TDP of just 12W which also means reduced compute resources, coming in at just 6 CUs (384 stream processors).

The AMD Ryzen 7 2700U has a CPU Mark score of 4100 points, while the Intel Core i5-8600K only manages to achieve a score of 3600 points. The AMD Ryzen 5 2500U performs slightly better at 4200pts than the Intel Core i5-7600K which comes out with a CPU Mark score of 3710 points. According to AMD, this gives its new mobile CPUs up to 50% higher performance than their direct competitors, however, we should take these numbers with a pinch of salt as they’re likely based on early scores from Geek bench and 3DMark benchmarks.

AMD Ryzen 9

AMD laptop processors are finally here. Just like its CPU desktop counterpart, AMD Ryzen laptop CPUs, including Ryzen 3 (entry-level laptop), Ryzen 5 (mid-range laptop), and Ryzen 7 (higher performance laptop) have arrived bringing AMD back into the fight to compete with Intel for the laptop market share.

The first three laptop chips that were unveiled by AMD are the newly rebranded 2000U series of laptop processors consisting of the Ryzen 3 2200U. AMD claims that laptops using these new AMD Ryzen CPUs will have 50% more battery life than previous generation laptop processors which is a massive improvement in battery life for laptop users. According to AMD’s numbers, laptop processors can now be as powerful as desktop CPUs which is a massive increase in performance for laptop users. The laptop Ryzen desktop AMD included numbers comparing the Ryzen 7 2700U laptop processor to Intel’s 8th generation laptop i7 8550U and even their own laptops’ previous generation A12-9720P.

AMD claims that a laptop using a Ryzen 7 2700U outperforms a laptop Intel i7 7700HQ by about 30%, tests have shown at least a 45% improvement over the AMD FX 9800P from last year. According to AMD’s numbers, laptop processors can now be as powerful as desktop CPUs which is a massive increase in performance for laptop users.AMD also claims that laptops using their laptop processors can now contain an AMD Radeon RX graphics card with up to 10 Vega cores, which is a massive increase for laptop gamers.

AMD also claims that laptops using their laptop processors can now contain an AMD Radeon RX graphics card with up to 10 Vega cores, which is a massive increase for laptop gamers. Intel has only recently started releasing laptop CPUs with 4 cores and 8 threads (Intel Core i5-8250U), the first time they’ve ever released laptop CPUs with more than four cores in their mobile line of laptop CPUs. AMD Ryzen 9 laptop processors expand on the eight-core count including increasing it to 12 for the top-of-the-line Ryzen 7 2700U.

Final Words:

You might be thinking, “I’m not sure which processor is best for my laptop.” Well, we hope this article has helped you better understand the various types of processors and what they can do to help your system run smoothly. it’s your decision which laptop you buy. The important thing to keep in mind is that the processor determines how well a computer can handle different tasks at once and what type of programs will run smoothly on the device.
